The governor-general and provincial governors of the…
1900 CE to 1911 CE
The governor-general and provincial governors of the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan exercise great latitude in governing.
After 1910, however, an executive council, whose approval is required for all legislation and for budgetary matters, assists the governor-general.
From 1944 to 1948 there will exist also an Advisory Council for the Northern Sudan whose functions are advice and consultation.
This Advisory Council will have eighteen members representing Province Councils, ten members nominated by the Governor-General and two honorary members.
The executive council will retain legislative authority until 1948.
