Reports of the massacres of prisoners and atrocities at Wyoming infuriate the American public.

Afterward, Colonel Thomas Hartley arrives with Hartley's Additional Continental Regiment to defend the valley to try to harvest the crops.

They are joined by a few militia companies, including that of Captain Denison, who violates his parole to join the force.
