The Ottomans, to prevent Wallachia from falling into the Hungarian fold, invade Wallachia and put young Vlad III on the throne.

However, this rule is short-lived as Hunyadi himself now invades Wallachia and restores his ally Vladislav II, of the Dăneshti clan, to the throne.

Vlad flees to Moldavia, where he lives under the protection of his uncle, Bogdan II.
