The Battle Ground Academy is founded in…
1889 CE
Named for its original location during the Civil War Battle of Franklin, the first campus is erected at the corner of Columbia Avenue and Cleburne Street. S. V. Wall and W. D. Mooney are chosen as the first to lead the new academy.
BGA is established to educate boys originally; girls will begin to attend some time later.
The school operates as a day school though students come from outside the local area to attend.
