June 1857 CE
Honduran troops are commanded by two generals, Florencio Xatruch and his brother Pedro.
The Nicaraguans find the northern Spanish name hard to pronounce.
When referring to the Honduran troops, the Nicaraguan people say, "here come the xatruches," which will later became catruches, and finally become catrachos, slang for "Hondurans".
On June 12, 1857, Xatruch makes a triumphant entrance to Comayagua, which is at this time the capital of Honduras.
