Homo sapiens idaltu is an extinct subspecies of Homo sapiens that lived almost 160,000 years ago in Pleistocene Africa.
"Idaltu" is from the Saho-Afar word meaning "elder" or "first born".
Isaltu humans were anatomically but not behaviorally modern.
