Armand de Vignerot du Plessis (March 13, 1696 – August 8, 1788) is a French soldier, diplomat and statesman.
Joining the army, he participates in three major wars and eventually rises to the rank of Marshal of France.
He is the son of Armand Jean de Vignerot du Plessis, Duke of Richelieu, who in turn is a great-nephew of the prominent French statesman, Cardinal Richelieu who had dominated France in the early seventeenth century.
