Ashur-dan I, one of the longest-reigning Kings of Assyria, reigning for some 46 years according to the Assyrian King List, to 1133 BCE.
His son, Mutakkil-Nusku, usurps the throne from his brother, Ninurta-tukulti-Ashur, apparently only shortly after their father's death.
Ninurta-tukulti-Ashur is forced to go into exile in Babylonia, with which he has maintained friendly relations.
Mutakkil-Nusku dies soon after this act of usurpation, leaving the throne to his son, Ashur-resh-ishi I.
