Pei Ju

high level official during the Chinese dynasties Sui Dynasty and Tang Dynasty
Years: 547 - 627

Pei Ju (547?

-627), courtesy name Hongda, formally Duke Jing of Anyi, is a high level official during the Chinese dynasties Sui Dynasty and Tang Dynasty, briefly serving as a chancellor during the reign of Emperor Gaozu of Tang.

He is praised by traditional Chinese historians for his ability and lack of corruption, but blamed him for flattering Emperor Yang of Sui and contributing to Sui's downfall by encouraging many external military campaigns that drained Sui's resources.
