Tensions between the Patricians and the guilds of Frankfurt lead to the 1612 Fettmilch Rebellion, named after its ringleader Vincenz Fettmilch.
During the rebellion, the Judengasse, the Jewish ghetto of Frankfurt, is attacked and looted and the Jews are expelled from the city.
