Guglielmo Marconi begins his wireless telegraphy project in 1894 by repeating some of Heinrich Hertz’s experiments with several improvements.

The Scots-Irish-Italian Bolognese native had read of Hertz’s experiments on radio waves and has become obsessed with the notion that such waves can be used to transmit information without the need for the wire connection of the electric telegraph.
