December 1867 CE
Under his direction, Ganz will become one of the most prominent companies in Austria-Hungary after 1869.
The Budapest-based company has invented a method of "crust-casting" to produce cheap, yet sturdy iron railway wheels, which greatly contribute to railway development in Central Europe.
The standard gauge railway system will develop quickly in Austria-Hungary during the industrial development following the Ausgleich of 1867, an all the major cities will soon be connected to each other by railway lines.
