Ramallah is among the many towns that come under Israeli administration as part of the West Bank territory.
The demographic makeup of the town, formerly predominantly Christian, has changed drastically between 1948 and 1967.
According to the special census of the West Bank taken by Israel in 1967, Ram Allah's population is twelve thousand one hundred and thirty-four, only slightly more than half Christian, while neighboring Al-Birah, including a large refugee camp, is thirteen thousand and thirty-seven.
