In the same year, the Pope and Matilda of Tuscany help arrange a marriage of Conrad to Maximilla (also called Matilda), a daughter of Count Roger I of Sicily.
Maximilla, escorted by Bishop Robert II of Troina, arrived at Pisa with a large fleet and a dowry of "many gifts of treasure".
The wedding takes place in Pisa in 1095.
