John Nepomucene, vicar general to the archbishop…
1393 CE
John Nepomucene, vicar general to the archbishop of Prague, opposes the attempts of King Wenceslas IV of Bohemia to create a new bishopric for one of the king's favorites.
When John fails to comply with his wishes, the king has him tortured and drowned in the Vltava (Moldau) River in 1393.
