Large quantities of Yixing stonewares and Blanc-de-Chine…
1696 CE to 1707 CE
Large quantities of Yixing stonewares and Blanc-de-Chine (French: “White from China") porcelains, made at Dehua in the Fujian province, otherwise known as Dehua porcelain or similar terms, arrives in Europe as Chinese Export Porcelain in the early eighteenth century.
Copied at Meissen and elsewhere, these ceramics will inspire many of the European potters.
Although European crests on Chinese porcelain can be found as early as the sixteenth century, around 1700, the demand for Armorial porcelain dramatically increases.
Thousands of services are ordered with drawings of individuals' coats of arms being sent out to China to be copied and shipped back to Europe.
