Much of Transylvania and southern Hungary comes…
August 1687 CE
Much of Transylvania and southern Hungary comes under Habsburg (Austrian) control in 1687 following the decisive victory of Mohács on August 12, 1687.
Leopold reconfirms the constitution subject to Hungary's acceptance of his dynasty in the male line and to the abolition of the ius resistendi ("right to resist") conceded under the Golden Bull of 1222, but the government that follows will in fact be another cruel Vienna-centered dictatorship.
