Greeks, gambling on a Russian victory, had incited the large-scale Epirus Revolt of 1854 as well as uprisings in Crete.

The insurrections are easily crushed by the Ottoman army.

Greece will not be invited to the peace conference and will make no gains out of the war.

The frustrated Greek leadership will blame the King for failing to take advantage of the situation; his popularity will plunge and he will later be forced to abdicate.
