As a result, they retain more rights to the land and sovereignty.

The reservation, of one million four hundred and seventy thousand acres (fifty-nine hundred square kilometers, is coterminous with present-day Osage County, Oklahoma in the north-central portion of the state between Tulsa and Ponca City.
