The Israeli armed forces, after defeating Egypt…
June 1967 CE
The Israeli armed forces, after defeating Egypt and Jordan, turn their attention to Syria on the last two days (June 9-10, 1967) of the Six-Day War.
Under cover of the Israel Air Force, engineer troops build access roads up the steep Golan Heights, on the Israeli-Syrian border, which are then frontally assaulted by armored vehicles and infantry.
The Syrian defenders and most of the Arab inhabitants flee, and Syria asks for an armistice; fighting ceases on June 10.
The heights are placed under Israeli military administration, and Golan is integrated into the communications and financial framework of Israel.
