The Swedish army invades Prussian Pomerania on…
September 1757 CE
Sweden, to avoid the appearance of her invasion of Pomerania as a war of aggression (no war of aggression can be started without the consent of the estates), issues no declaration of war and presents the incursion to the Imperial Diet as aimed solely at restoring peace.
Only after hostilities have begun does the promised financial support from France and its allies arrive and only then, on September 22, 1757, does the Swedish government state its conditions and declare war on Prussia.
The Hats have seriously overestimated the strength of the Swedish army, however: the soldiers are badly trained, poorly equipped, and unprepared for combat.
