The other part of the Camp David accords is more specific.
It provides for "the full exercise of Egyptian sovereignty up to the internationally recognized border," as well as for the Israeli right of free passage through the Strait of Tiran and the Suez Canal.
Letters accompanies the agreements.
A letter from Begin to Carter promises that the removal of settlers from Sinai will be put to Knesset vote.
A letter from Sadat to Carter states that if the settlers are not withdrawn from Sinai, there will be no peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.
It is also understood that to make the agreement more palatable the United States will significantly increase aid to both countries.
