July 1460 CE
The Polish army, supported by Danzigers and peasants, had begun a siege of the town of Marienburg on March 21, 1460; the town's castle is already in Polish control.
This time, the army has a more capable commander, Lubieszowski, and enough artillery.
Lubieszowski dies during the siege and is replaced by Jan Koscielecki with Johann Meydeburg of Danzig as his advisor.
The town of Marienburg finally capitulates on July 5.
Marienburg's mayor, Burgomaster Blume, is hanged as traitor, since he had pledged allegiance to the Polish king, but later opened the gates of Marienburg to the Teutonic Knights.
