The British authorities in Palestine sentence Shlomo Ben Yosef, who had shot at an Arab bus, to be hanged for terrorist activities on June 29, 1938.

Despite worldwide protests, his sentence is carried out.

His last words are "Yechi Jabotinsky (Long live Jabotinsky); Lamut o Lichbosh et Hahar (To die or take the mountain)" after which he sings Hatikvah.
