The British formalize the two-year-old alliance in…
April 1758 CE
Britain also dispatches nine thousand troops to reinforce Ferdinand's Hanoverian army, the first British troop commitment on the continent and a reversal in the policy of Pitt, as it is also agreed that the British will provide a garrison for the port of Emden, recently recaptured from French and Austrian forces by the Allies.
In exchange, Britain hopes the Prussians will supply infantry and cavalry to the German Army of Observation to defend Hanover and neighboring territories.
