Sweden has performed several small landings along the coast near Kristinestad and Kaskö and has managed to raise local men to oppose the Russians.

The first had taken place on July 3, with several others taking place soon after.

Altogether the Swedes have several hundred local men in arms.

However, the Russians are able to send reinforcements to the area which are, in addition to being numerically superior, both far better trained and equipped than the peasants and militia the Swedes had raised.

By the end of July the small forces Sweden have landed and the men that have supported them have either been beaten or withdrawn back to their ships.
