Rhodes, archaic Kingdom of

The island of Rhodes is inhabited in the Neolithic period, although little remains of this culture.

In the 16th century BCE, the Minoans come to Rhodes.

Later Greek mythology recalls a Rhodian race called the Telchines, and associates the island of Rhodes with Danaus; it is sometimes nicknamed Telchinis.

In the 15th century BCE, Mycenaean Greeks invade.
