Branimir (Latin: Brannimero) is a ruler of the Duchy of Croatia who reigns as duke (knez) from 879 to 892.
His country receives papal recognition as a state from Pope John VIII on 7 June 879.
During his reign, Croatia retains its sovereignty from both Frankish and Byzantine rule and becomes de jure independent.
