Charles Vane (c.1680 – March 29, 1721) is an English pirate who preys upon English and French shipping.
His pirate career lasts from 1716 – 1719.
His flagship is a brigantine named the Ranger.
Vane wis among the pirate captains who operates out of the notorious base at New Providence in the Bahamas after the British abandon the colony during the War of Spanish Succession.
After a relatively long and violent career in piracy he is captured and in 1721 is executed by hanging at Gallows Point, Port Royal, Jamaica.
