György Rákóczi II (30 January 1621 – 7 June 1660), a Transylvanian Hungarian ruler, is the eldest son of György I and Susanna Lorantffy.

Born in Sárospatak, Hungary, he is elected prince of Transylvania during his father's lifetime (19 February 1642), and marries (3 February 1643), Sophia Bathory; he was previously compelled by his mother to reject the Roman Catholic faith and turn Calvinist.
