Isaac Briggs (1763-1825) is an American engineer, surveyor and manufacturer during the Early Republic.
He lives much of his adult life with his family in Brookeville, Maryland.
Briggs was born in Haverford, Pennsylvania in 1763 to Samuel and Mary Briggs, two Quakers.
He studies engineering at the College of Pennsylvania (the University of Pennsylvania today), where he graduates with a bachelor's degree in 1783 and a master's degree in 1786.
After his graduation, Briggs travels, moving to Georgia and Georgetown, Washington, D.C. before he marries Hannah Brooke and settles near Brookeville in Montgomery County, Maryland.
