Nikephoros Bryennios the Elder

Nikephoros Bryennios the Elder, Latinized as Nicephorus Bryennius, is a Byzantine general who tries to establish himself as Emperor in the late eleventh century.

His contemporaries consider him the best tactician in the empire.
