Simon McTavish (c. 1750 – July 6, 1804) is a Scots-Quebecer entrepreneur who dominates the North West Company.
He is the pre-eminent businessman in Canada during the second half of the 18th century.
In 1797, when the Chief of Clan MacTavish in Scotland falls on hard times and is forced to sell the family seat, Dunardarie, McTavish buys it back for him and gives his eldest son employment.
