Emperor Zhi of Han (138–146) is an emperor of the Chinese Han Dynasty.
He is a great-great-grandson of Emperor Zhang.
His reign is dominated by Liang Ji, the brother of Empress Dowager Liang, who eventually poisons the young emperor.
Emperor Zhi ascends the throne when he is seven when his third cousin, two-year-old Emperor Chong dies, and although he is still a child, Emperor Zhi is remarkably intelligent.
He recognizes and is offended by the immense power Liang Ji has over the government—leading to his comment, on once occasion, that Liang Ji was "an arrogant general."
This act of defiance angers Liang Ji, who proceeds to poison the emperor.
