The Invasion and Sack of León (988 CE)
In 988 CE, Almanzor invades the Kingdom of León, laying waste to its lands in a sweeping campaign.
- King Bermudo II is forced to flee to Zamora as Almanzor’s forces overrun the kingdom.
- The city of León resists for four days before ultimately falling to the Muslim army. The city is sacked and burned, leaving it in ruins.
