1345 CE
Pisan painter Francesco Traini executes the Saint Dominic polyptych—his one signed and dated work—for the Church of Santa Catherina in Pisa in 1344-45.
(Scholars disagree over which other paintings may justly be attributed to him; among his disputed works are the well-known frescoes for Campo Santo, also in Pisa, entitled Triumph of Death and Last Judgment, superb but provincial reflections on Ambrogio Lorenzetti’s panoramas in Siena.
