Millions of Catholics (including many Jesuits) live…
July 1773 CE
Millions of Catholics (including many Jesuits) live in the Polish western provinces of the Russian Empire, which will enable the Society to maintain its existence and carry on its work all through the period of suppression.
The suppression is carried out in all countries except Russia, where Catherine the Great had forbidden the papal decree to be executed, and Prussia, which is a Protestant nation.
