Russian soldiers bring cholera to Poland in February 1831.

The cholera epidemic strikes Warsaw during the Polish–Russian War 1830–31 between May 16 and August 20, 1831; four thousand seven hundred and thirty-four people fall ill and two thousand five hundred and twenty-four die.

The epidemic of cholera brought to Poland and East Prussia by Russian soldiers forces Prussian authorities to close their borders to Russian transports.
