The grandsons of Duke Henry IV of…
March 1628 CE
The grandsons of Duke Henry IV of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Henry V and Albert VII, had in 1520 again divided the Duchy of Mecklenburg, creating the subdivision of Mecklenburg-Güstrow, which Duke Adolf Frederick I of Mecklenburg-Schwerin had inherited in 1610.
In a second partition of 1621, he had granted Güstrow to his brother John Albert II.
Albrecht von Wallenstein deposes both rulers in 1628, as they have supported Christian IV of Denmark in the Thirty Years' War.
