The militantly religious King Alfonso I of…
November 1134 CE
The militantly religious King Alfonso I of Aragon and of Navarre, who is dead by November, has bequeathed his kingdom to the Templars and the Hospitallers, but his former subjects refuse to accept the donation.
The crisis produced by Alfonso's will results in a major reorientation of the peninsula's kingdoms: the separation of Aragon and Navarre and the union of Aragon and Catalonia; the kingdoms will eventually come under the control of the counts of Barcelona.
