January 1544 CE
The orthodox Aristotelians at the University of Paris, outraged, have brought the matter before the parlement of Paris, and finally before Francis I, by whom it has been referred to a commission of five, who find Ramus guilty of having "acted rashly, arrogantly and impudently," and interdict his lectures in 1544.
The royal decree suppresses Ramus's books and forbids him to teach logic.
Ramus withdraws from Paris.
