Petrus Ramus (or Pierre de la Ramée) (Anglicized to Peter Ramus) (1515 – 26 August 1572), French humanist, logician, and educational reformer, was born at the village of Cuts, Oise in Picardy, a member of a noble but impoverished family: his father was a farmer.
He is killed during the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre.
