August 1831 CE
The Poles fight desperately and attempts are made to rouse Volhynia, Podolia, Samogitia and Lithuania.
With the exception of the Lithuanian uprising, in which the youthful Countess Emilia Plater and several other women distinguish themselves, the guerilla warfare carried on in the frontier provinces is of minor importance and serves only to give Russia an opportunity to crush local risings.
Particularly notorious is the slaughter of the inhabitants of the small town of Oszmiana in Lithuania.
