Damascus Eyalet
Damascus Eyalet is an eyalet of the Ottoman Empire.
Its reported area in the nineteenth century is 51,900 square kilometres (20,020 sq mi).
It becomes an eyalet after the Ottomans conquer it from the Mamluks in 1516.
Canbirdi Gazali, a Mamluk traitor, is made the first beylerbey of Damascus
