He was born on August 29, 1848 in Thiverval-Grignon, Yvelines, France, and dies in 1928 in Paris.
He wins the Grand Prize for sculpture at the Exposition Universelle in 1900.
He exhibits paintings at the Salon from 1879 to 1886, but thereafter devotes his work to sculpture.
