Charles-Irénée Castel, abbé de Saint-Pierre (February 18, 1658 – April 29, 1743) is a French author whose ideas are novel for his times. 

His proposal of an international organization to maintain peace is perhaps the first in history, with the possible exception of George of Poděbrady's Tractatus (1462–1464).

He influences Rousseau and Kant.
