Cui Yan (163–216), style name Jigui, is a vassal serving under the warlord Yuan Shao during the late Han Dynasty period of Chinese history.
Cui does not attain much fame due to his failures to develop his various proposals.
After the defeat of Yuan, Cui serves Cao Cao and becomes a civil affairs official.
Cui is subsequently arrested and killed in prison after he opposes Cao Cao's decision to seek personal enthronement.
