David Humphreys (July 10, 1752 – February 21, 1818) is an American Revolutionary War colonel and aide de camp to George Washington, American minister to Portugal, then to Spain, entrepreneur who brings Merino sheep to America, and member of the Connecticut state legislature.
A poet and author, he is one of the "Hartford Wits."
