Commandant-General Stephanus Schoeman (March 14, 1810 – June 19, 1890) is State President of the South African Republic (ZAR - Transvaal), from December 6, 1860 until April 17, 1862.

His red hair, fiery temperament and vehement disputes with other Boer leaders earn  him the moniker "Stormvogel den Noorden," "Storm bird of the North."
