Thomas Thomson FRS FRSE FLS FFPSG MWS (12 April 1773 – 2 July 1852) is a Scottish chemist and mineralogist whose writings contribute to the early spread of Dalton's atomic theory.
He is the inventor of the saccharometer.
Furthermore, he gives silicon its current name.
